Our Origin
Built on lived experience, not distance.
Give Hope to Darfur was founded in the aftermath of the 2002–2003 Darfur genocide by Nasma Abdulkhalik, a survivor who escaped the violence and resolved to keep supporting the communities left behind.
Drawing on lived experience of displacement and deep community trust, Abdulkhalik built the relationships that allow the organization to reach populations across six operational zones in Darfur, plus communities in Eastern Chad and North Kordofan — many of which remain difficult for international agencies to access.

Our Approach
Dignity, not pity.
Our programs are built around the belief that people affected by crisis deserve tools and opportunity — not charity that ends at the handout. That shapes how we design every project, from emergency relief to long-term livelihoods work.
