Hope for Darfur: Urgent Appeal for the People of Al Fashir, West Darfur
I’m reaching out today with a deep sense of urgency. The city of Al Fashir in West Darfur is at the heart of one of the gravest humanitarian crises the world is forgetting—and yet the children, mothers, and families there cannot wait for global attention to catch up.
The city is effectively under siege: food, fuel, medicine and humanitarian supplies are blocked or severely limited. Markets are empty; healthcare infrastructure is collapsing.
Civilians—including women, children and the elderly—are caught between drone strikes, shelling, starvation and displacement.
How your donation will help
We are partnering with Hope for Darfur (our in-region trusted partner) to channel aid directly into West Darfur. Here’s how your contribution can make a difference:
Emergency food kits & nutritional support – These kits include staple foods, high-energy biscuits for children, and cooking fuel for families who have had everything taken away.
Clean water & sanitation – Many areas lack safe drinking water, and the risk of water-borne diseases is high. Your donation will help install emergency water-bladders, purify tablets, and hygiene kits for families.
Medical & trauma care supplies – With hospitals damaged or closed, mobile clinics are urgently needed. Your support funds essential medicines, wound-care kits, and transport for the wounded.
Child-friendly safe spaces & early-learning materials – As an education professional, I know the importance of continuity for children. We will set up safe-zones where children can access books, drawing supplies, psychosocial support and hope.
Shelter & basic winter-ready items – Many families live in makeshift shelters and need tarps, blankets, mats and mosquito nets to survive the coming months.
Your Impact Today
Every dollar you give helps keep a child alive, a mother nourished and a community from collapsing. Here are some concrete examples of what donations can accomplish:
$50 can provide a family of five with emergency food for two weeks.
$100 covers a hygiene & water‐kit for a displaced household.
$300 funds a child-friendly safe-space for a month — including trained facilitator, materials and snacks.
$500+ enables a mobile medical outreach visit to a besieged neighbourhood, with medicines, transport and support staff.
If we work together now, we can deliver hope — and actual lifesaving assistance — at a moment when the world is watching but yet not acting fully.
Advocate for peace and visibility — Help us raise global awareness of the situation in Darfur so that the voices of its people are heard.
